Aubrey and Eric’s engagement session was initially scheduled for March 30, 2020. I'm sure you know what's coming...

Covid. Sigh.

It was right at the beginning of the pandemic and we didn't know how long this was supposed to last (remember the time of "maybe 3-6 weeks? lol"). We set a tentative date for the beginning of May & thankfully New Orleans was open for social distanced outdoor activities when it came time for our shoot! So we went out to Audubon Park and shot some amazing engagement photos together.

Audubon Park was only one location of our session - but more on that later (it was pretty epic). In Aubrey’s questionnaire, she mentioned she would like to incorporate the location where Eric proposed. So that’s how we chose Audubon & where we began taking photos!

Pro Tip: When finding a place for your engagement session, consider a location that is significant to you in some way.

One of the things I really love about this session is how much variety of photographs we were able to shoot. The sun coming through the trees on the bridge lended itself to beautiful black and whites, which I always finds makes some of the most really romantic and soulful images.

From the bridge we cut through the golf course. As we were walking, I stopped us to take a few frames of a photo that immediately jumped out to me. I love the boldness of these silhouette style photos… they have only a few dominant features - the sky, the green, and them - and I think that’s part of what makes them so striking.

Next we headed over to the peristyle (is that what it’s called?) for more of a modern & clean backdrop, through the alley of oaks because they’re classic Louisiana, and then over to the levee (also classic Louisiana) where Aubrey and Eric shared a glass of champagne as a toast to them & their future together.
