Having sessions in a client’s home are some of my favorite sessions lately. Yes, I love when our weather is nice and we can be outside in the fresh air with natural beauty around us but there’s just something so much warmer and cozier about having photos taken in your own home. Especially when it’s filled with as much love as this one!

Meet one of my favorite families. I met mom when we were in high school at good old Lyons Township and we became instant friends on our poms dance team. We have both been a bit busy after college but every time we catch up it doesn’t feel like we’ve missed a beat.

One thing is for sure, being the baby sister to these two big brothers is going to be both a blessing and a curse for this little sweetie! Both big brothers are so in love with her though, she’s going to be one tough girlie as she grows up.

If you’ve ever had a lifestyle session with me, I LOVE to climb on furniture. I’m a bit vertically challenged so if I can get up higher it makes for more flattering images as well as some fun angles.

After the toddlers have been in a variety of images, I like to let them go and take a break and snap a few of mom and dad with the new baby. How precious are these?

Even though we are doing more of a lifestyle session for your newborn, I always like to bring along a few extra props and accessories, while keeping a natural look with your session. Just a few easy flowers from Hobby Lobby, some extra texture and layers from JoAnn Fabrics and my favorite baskets and wooden items from Home Goods. Easy peasy.

Then I usually end the session with baby all snuggly in their cribs and a swaddle from their nursery. This way I can get a few images of their nursery details and if they’re comfortably asleep I can leave them be and not disturb them while I pack up my gear and props.

Lifestyle newborn sessions are easy to schedule and are effortless for moms. You don’t have to worry about leaving home without all of your essential items for baby or your toddler and give a more naturally comfortable and cozy vibe to your session.
