Sara wanted a location for her senior portraits that had backgrounds with gates, columns, and visual interest but incorporating some natural elements like flowers, leaves, and a golden hour glow. This Allegheny County park seemed like a no-brainer and it delivered for Sara’s senior portrait session. Add a hat, some flowers from Trader Joe’s, a gymnastics leotard and we had a gallery full of unique, beautiful images for Sara.
I love to meet my clients in advance for their Style Consultation. Not only is this a great way to meet me in advance, we are able to plan the session from start to finish: outfits, accessories, but I can really hone in on what location has all that you want in your senior portrait session. To add a pop of color, you can see we had some small sunflowers that Sara brought along. It gave a great burst of color to the images, a very summery vibe, and just adds visual interest. Never be afraid to bring a prop along, from dog to flower, I recommend it.
It’s important to me to try to incorporate the hobbies of my senior portrait clients. Sara has been a life-long gymnast and she brought along all of her competition medals. We had a lot of fun incorporating them into her photos and I loved getting to hear more about some of the travel and memorable experiences she has had through this sport.
