One of the best things about being a wedding photographer, aside from getting to hang out with awesome couples and being invited to banging wedding parties every weekend, is travelling all around the country and discovering different venues. And coming across the absolute gem that is Hilles House was a welcome surprise, especially as it’s noot too far from me. It’s a stunning Grade II listed arts and crafts house, perched on top of a hill on the edge of the Cotswolds in Gloucestershire and its an amazing backdrop with views across five different counties. If you are having a Hilles House Wedding then please do drop me a message, it"s somewhere I’d love to head back to.
Katherine & Alex started the day by getting ready in Painswick, with Katherine and the girls having hair by Beady Bride and makeup but the super talented Victoria Abbosh at the Painswick Hotel while Alex and the boys were getting ready with a beer or three at an air bnb around the corner. It was then time to head to the church, the ceremony took place at Saint James the Great church in Cranham. Transport was provided in the form of a gorgous vintage Jaguar and Katherine looked stunning in her Justin Alexander dress.
After the ceremony, it was time to head to Hilles house for drinks, food, some outdoor games and a good old party, it was oysters and croquet before heading into the Yurt for the wedding breakfast and speeches. The yurt at Hilles House is something else and along with flowers by The Bespoke Flower Company it looked truely awesome.
Onto the evening and the dancfloor was taken care of by Truly Medley Deeply, and I don’t think I’ve ever seen a two man band get the dancefloor going as much is these guys did, it was carnage, but in a good way of course. All in all it was an ace day from start to finish.
