Where do I even beginnnnnn. First off - I’m the worst at actually keeping updated with blogging, especially weddings since I have SUCH a hard time choosing images I want to put in a blog, then the prepping/uploading/writing process used to take FOREVER. But thankfully I found a new system so it looks like these might be coming out a little more on the regular. But I say all of this to make sure it’s known that I don’t try to pick and choose what weddings are special enough to be blogged. There’s definitely no rhyme or reason. But today happened to be David + Julie’s 1 year anniversary and I had a little extra time to put out this sweet blog filled to the BRIM with images from their day that truly showcase what their day looked like. Not just a curated portion that I feel like fits the “vibe” that the industry expects.
SOOOOO. This was actually one of our very last weddings before the pandemic hit. Picture this. It was 2020. The year was full of expectations and dreams, James and I were vamping up for the most exciting wedding season yet, we already had shot 2 insanely beautiful days in January of last year that were giving us this extreme desire to change things up. To shoot differently. To document better. To help you experience reliving your day through your grandma’s eyes, your parents eyes, the tears of your siblings. Because all of that matters to us. So screw the perfectly curated, instagram worthy, pinterest styled boards, and let in all of the beautifully spur of the moment experiences that come from looking through these images. I hope that you truly feel all of the emotions that compound these images. Because they’re something special. I know just going back through them a year later that I feel an overwhelming sense of joy and accomplishment knowing that we succeeded in what we set out to do. And that was document this day.
David + Julie are beyond special people who were brought into our lives by Sawyer + Chris in 2019. We fell hard for them and their friend group and felt so deeply cherished by each of them through both wedding processes.
This day was made possible by an insane crew of vendors whom I love dearly, at one of my favorite venues in Austin/Dripping Springs. So please check out the team. You won’t regret it.
I could go on and on. But I have other things to drum up right now. Sooooo without further ado, David + Julie. One year later, from a time where life was so normal. I want to cherish these forever.
