When I met Meg over a year ago, I remember that one of the first things she said to me was- ‘ I was just thinking this is a good start, when you have a Bruin’s flag as you walk up to your door’… and in the conversation that followed I found out their pup’s name is Tuukka!! I mean how can I not love this couple when they named their pup after a Bruin!
As we chatted away, I quickly realized that this is one awesome couple. Meg and I talked about a million things before we discussed what they needed for wedding photography. They had an awesome party planned at TerryDiddle Farm in Rehoboth, MA. And I was pumped they chose me to photograph their wedding day!
Fast forward a few months and 2020 showed up, plans changed, and we weren’t sure when we could do their engagement session or if their wedding would still happen.
Unfortunately, Meg and Kyle made the difficult decision to move their wedding date. Since everything had moved out, we tossed around some ideas for their engagement session. Meg asked if I thought doing an engagement session in the snow would be possible. Yes!! Absolutely, but we would have to be ready since over the last couple of years we haven’t had that many snow storms in Massachusetts.
Well 2021 has come in with a bang and the snow has kept falling these last couple of weeks, so we planned for some snowy pictures. At first we thought about doing the session at a small Park/Zoo nearby, but then they sent me a video of their back yard. They have such an awesome spot backing up to the woods and with a pond! When incorporating a pup into pictures, especially with the snow, it's a perfect option to do the engagement pictures at home. We were easily able to do some pictures with Tuukka and all his cuteness then have him go warm up inside. Although he was not happy that we didn’t come in as well!
These two are so freaking adorable with each other and their smiles/laughs are amazing. We had so much fun hanging out- or well that’s what it felt like to me- and taking some pictures too! Also, if you’re going to do an engagement session in the snow, you better be prepared for snowballs to start flying! They geared up for it too… at one point I think Kyle had 3 ready to throw just as Meg turned toward him. A great way to get out those quarantine grievances on each other- haha!
Meg had super cute outfits picked out… the creams, whites, and browns were perfect. Then a quick change to grays and navy. Such perfect combinations for a wintery engagement session. I also love that Meg had on her UConn hat (by Love your Melon), as a nod to where they met!
I honestly could have talked to these two for hours on end- they are just so awesome to be around. I can’t wait to celebrate with these guys and their awesome family :)
Thank you guys for making this session SO much fun!!
Xoxo,
Moe
