Meet Ellie, Class of 2021. When Ellie isn’t on the soccer field, you might find her starring in her school’s production of their yearly musical, Mamma Mia! This kind and vibrant senior is headed south for college- I am a little jealous of the mild winters and sunshine that she’ll have regularly. No doubt her parents and sister Gwyn, pictured below, will be able to visit and enjoy the temperate climate during her time as a future undergrad.
Ellie wanted to head into the city; a cool urban vibe- YES! We had a great time in the Strip District of Pittsburgh and were able to utilize many different backgrounds for her senior portrait session. I love incorporating sibling photos when I can; it allows parents to have a beautiful image of their kids before the eldest is off to college, busy with a schedule they can’t nail down. Alas, a beautiful photo of Ellie and sister Gwyn for her family to enjoy for years to come. Double win!
About two weeks prior to each senior portrait session, I invite my seniors to my studio for a Style Consultation. This is where we meet for the first time. Get those first meeting jitters out early! We go over all of your favorite outfits; select the ones that will photograph best and accessorize them. I have a Style Closet full of clothing and accessories that my clients may borrow for their senior portrait session. Ellie is pictured wearing my accessories and hat in her portraits. The best part of the Style Consultation is that the stress is over; no bickering or fighting between daughter and mother on the day of the session. You are set, prepared, and planned ahead of time. All you have to do is show up and leave the rest to me on portrait day!
You’ll notice that Ellie is wearing a vibrant pink romper below. I say it all of the time— a pop of color NEVER disappoints in portrait photography. What a lovely color on her but it also adds such pizazz to the photo.
What a beautiful gallery full of diverse backdrops, outfits, and color. Well done, Ellie!
