You roll the dice when you have a winter wedding in Massachusetts. It came up big for Milan and Milica with temperatures in the 50s and not a cloud in the sky. It’s so fun and interesting to me to be able to photograph different cultures. There are so many different customs at a Serbian wedding, like the crown ceremony and the dance they seem to start at any point during the day. We started doing some photographs of them getting ready at their apartment in Quincy. The boys were getting ready downstairs while playing pool. The girls are getting ready upstairs in the apartments. Although it was very tight, we were able to get some great shots with some really nice window light. At a Serbian wedding, the bride sees the groom prior to the ceremony while the fathers exchange gifts. The ceremony and the rest of the day took place at St Savs church in Cambridge Massachusetts. It is such an amazing space with great light. The whole day was a perfect combination of the candid, photojournalistic images combined with some fun portraiture. I’m so glad I was able to be part of the day.
