ALICE AND TOM’S SUMMER WEDDING AT VILLIERS BARN
After a few damp weddings, it was time for a very sunny wedding, and this is what Alice and Tom had with their marriage at Villiers Barn in Essex.
Villiers Barn only opened this year, and I’ve been very fortunate to have photographed a few weddings here, as I am the recommended wedding photographer for this beautiful venue.
BRIDAL PREPARATIONS
I met Alice and her bridesmaids in the bridal cottage, where their hair and makeup were being done. Meanwhile, I photographed all the details – dress, shoes, bouquets, etc.- and then met Tom and photographed him with his groomsmen.
WEDDING CEREMONY
Separate from the main barn, the ceremony room is a former stable block converted into a bright and airy contemporary space. As Alice walked down the aisle with her father, Tom looked blown away by how beautiful she looked.
DRINKS RECEPTION AT VILLIERS BARN
After the confetti entrance, the drinks reception commenced while I took the family and formal group photographs and fun photos with all the bridesmaids and groomsmen.
VILLIERS BARN SUMMER WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHY
It’s easy to see why Alice and Tom fell in love with this venue. Surrounded by incredible views of rural Essex and its features, including the lake, mini orchard, bridge, formal gardens, and boathouse, it is a perfect setting for a wedding.
We wandered around the grounds as I took photos, and the couple had quiet time together. Some of my favourite images were on the bridge and by the lake.
WEDDING BREAKFAST AND SPEECHES
The main barn looked beautiful, and I could see how much thought Alice and Tom had put into their chosen theme. The speeches were funny and went down very well.
SUMMER PARTY TIME AT VILLIERS BARN
The evening guests arrived, the wedding cake was cut, and Alice and Tom took to the floor for their first dance. Then it was time to PARTY! The guests joined the happy couple on the floor and danced the night away. Just before I finished, I got more photos of them both with the sun setting.
Alice and Tom, it was an absolute pleasure to photograph your wedding. I wish you both a lifetime of fun and adventure together.
